Industrial Maintenance Technician 5th Shift Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our team on the 5th shift. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing scheduled and emergency maintenance on manufacturing machinery, ensuring accuracy and safety in all operations.

Job Summary:

  • Performs routine, predictive and preventive maintenance on all machinery
  • Maintains and repairs motorized equipment
  • Operates manlifts and forklifts; transports heavy parts and equipment, and performs inspections on trucks
  • Identifies needed parts to repair equipment and facility
  • Completes required paperwork to order new parts and to track existing parts
  • Coordinates maintenance of parts inventory with MRO and purchasing personnel

Responsibilities:

As an Industrial Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including:

  1. Diagnosing root cause of problem and correcting issue with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical components and PLCs in plant machinery and equipment
  2. Performing routine, predictive and preventive maintenance on all machinery
  3. Maintaining and repairing motorized equipment
  4. Operating manlifts and forklifts; transporting heavy parts and equipment, and performing inspections on trucks
  5. Identifying needed parts to repair equipment and facility
  6. Completing required paperwork to order new parts and to track existing parts
  7. Coordinating maintenance of parts inventory with MRO and purchasing personnel
  8. Maintaining grinders and associated blowers; adjusting and sharpening blades
  9. Fabricating metal parts (e.g. brackets); performing welding as required
  10. Maintaining work logs as required
  11. Performing basic to moderately complex electrical repairs and installations
  12. Completing daily forklift safety/damage inspection checks
  13. Performing grounds/facilities repairs and needed
  14. Performing other related duties and assignments as required
  15. Maintaining supplies at workstation
  16. Training other Maintenance Associates. Training other plant associates on equipment and procedures
  17. Responding to on-call emergencies as needed
  18. Using assigned timecard daily to accurately record time worked
  19. Attending weekly shift meetings and/or monthly plant meetings, if required
  20. Actively participating in all plant safety programs, depending on location
  21. Notifying department supervisor if proper tools are not furnished to complete job functions

Requirements:

  • High school graduate/GED
  • Minimum of two years of maintenance experience, at least one year of which must have been in mechanical and electrical maintenance
  • Knowledge of basic preventive maintenance scheduling and implementation required
  • Knowledge of basic carpentry and tooling. Must have excellent mechanical aptitude
  • Position requires walking, standing, heavy lifting, bending, and twisting
  • Must have correctable hearing and eyesight
  • Must be able to pass colorblindness test and be able to keep colors separate
  • Ability to learn basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills with on-the-job training
  • Ability to lift up to 86lbs on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist and ability to team lift 87 to 100lbs
  • Ability to work well with others. Ability to work with some limited supervision to perform job
  • Must be skilled in working with hand and electrical tools

Salary Range:

$29.00-$34.80 per hour, plus $1.15 per hour shift differential
