The Role:

Key Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Vision:

  • Define and communicate the strategic vision and roadmap for healthcare data engineering initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory compliance, and industry trends.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation in data management, analytics, and healthcare interoperability, driving business growth and improving patient outcomes.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Work closely with business stakeholders, healthcare professionals, data engineers, and IT teams to gather requirements and prioritize features, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, providing clarity and ensuring successful project outcomes.

Data Engineering Oversight:

  • Ensure the technical team delivers high-quality, scalable, and secure data infrastructure, meeting the needs of healthcare data engineering initiatives.
  • Guide the design of data architectures and models that support analytics, reporting, and healthcare operations, ensuring data quality and integrity.

Healthcare Data Management:

  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, GDPR, HITRUST, and other regional standards for data privacy and security, protecting sensitive patient information.
  • Drive efforts around data governance, quality, and standardization across the healthcare data lifecycle, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.

Agile Leadership:

  • Lead Agile product development ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives, ensuring effective team collaboration and project delivery.
  • Define and prioritize product backlog items, ensuring alignment with business needs and technical feasibility, driving project success.

Data Integration & Interoperability:

  • Oversee data integration efforts from multiple healthcare systems, ensuring interoperability between cloud environments, on-premise systems, and third-party healthcare applications, facilitating seamless data exchange.
  • Ensure that data engineering solutions enable efficient data exchange, integration, and transformation based on healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, ICD, CPT), supporting data-driven decision-making.

Technical Expertise:

  • Collaborate with technical teams to make informed decisions on data architecture, technologies, and platforms, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Stay current on the latest trends in healthcare data engineering, cloud technologies, and AI/ML applications in healthcare, driving innovation and improvement.

Data Analytics Enablement:

  • Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and BI teams to ensure that data engineering solutions meet the requirements for advanced analytics, machine learning, and predictive modeling, supporting data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure that data is structured and accessible for real-time analytics, dashboards, and reports that drive healthcare decision-making, improving patient outcomes.

Data Enrichment & Transformation:

  • Lead efforts to define and implement data enrichment, transformation, and quality improvement processes, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
  • Ensure the integration of external reference data sources or in-house reference data for advanced data processing, supporting data-driven decision-making.

Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Ensure that all data processes comply with healthcare regulatory requirements and industry best practices, protecting sensitive patient information.
  • Implement data validation, error handling, and auditing procedures to maintain high standards of data integrity, ensuring data quality and reliability.

Customer Demo:

  • Showcase the product's features, benefits, and potential ROI in a way that resonates with different stakeholders, highlighting the value proposition.
  • Develop customized product demonstrations that align with the unique needs and pain points of potential customers, driving business growth.

Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in product management, technical product ownership, or technical leadership roles, preferably in the healthcare domain, with a strong understanding of healthcare data standards and systems.
  • Proven experience in healthcare data engineering, including ETL processes, data pipelines, and cloud-based data solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP), ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Solid understanding of healthcare regulations (HIPAA, GDPR, HITRUST) and compliance requirements, protecting sensitive patient information.
  • Excellent knowledge of healthcare (Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM), claims processing, healthcare) and experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Sales Operations, Sales Support, Finance, Formulary, Legal, and Rebate Operations.
  • Extensive experience with Agile methodologies, leading cross-functional teams, and delivering complex projects, ensuring effective project delivery.
  • Experience with data engineering tools, cloud platforms, and big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka), driving innovation and improvement.
  • Understanding of Relational, NoSQL, and Vector databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, SingleStore, Pinecone), ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Understanding of Machine Learning frameworks (e.g., Python, Keras, Tensorflow), driving innovation and improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to manage and influence multiple stakeholders, ensuring effective collaboration and project delivery.
  • Experience with modern cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and tools such as Databricks, Snowflake, or similar, driving innovation and improvement.
  • Experience with business intelligence (BI) and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI), supporting data-driven decision-making.
  • Understanding of data governance frameworks and master data management (MDM), ensuring data quality and integrity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field, with a strong understanding of healthcare data standards and systems.
  • Advanced certifications in product management or data-related fields (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner, CDMP), ensuring expertise and knowledge.
