Job Overview

Compensation Range: Based on experience level, $18 - $30/hr

Avionics Electrical Assembler I ($18/hr - $20/hr)
  • Perform wire cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, and connecting wires between individual component leads and other connectors.
  • Utilize hand tools including strippers, cutters, crimpers, and soldering irons effectively.
  • Assemble and attach components such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches to assemblies.
  • Conduct inspections and validate own work using Piper inspection certifications.
  • Ensure compliance with Piper QAM/QIM and FAA standards.
  • Address discrepancies as needed.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team performance, including schedule adherence, quality defect reduction, and productivity increases.
  • Collaborate with senior colleagues to gain and share practical knowledge for effective training and performance.
  • Maintain compliance with departmental safety, environmental, and tool control standards.
  • Complete tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Avionics Electrical Assembler II ($21/hr - $23/hr)
  • Construct electrical assemblies according to serialized aircraft specifications using bus bars, circuit breakers, and jumper wires.
  • Inspect and validate the work of fellow team members using Piper inspection certifications.
  • Facilitate training and cross-training of team members to achieve acceptable performance levels.
  • Support ongoing improvement efforts to enhance team performance metrics.
  • Willingness to share knowledge and mentor teammates to ensure satisfactory job performance.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with departmental safety and environmental standards.
  • Perform duties of lower graded positions and other tasks as assigned.
Senior Avionics Electrical Assembler ($23/hr - $25/hr)
  • Install components such as circuit breaker panels and harness assemblies for aircraft main instrument panels.
  • Build complex electrical assemblies with minimal defects while maintaining high productivity.
  • Collaborate with teammates and manufacturing support teams to resolve issues.
  • Address major discrepancies and perform necessary repairs.
  • Assist in new product development and testing phases.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for nonconforming materials.
  • Enhance departmental performance through cost-saving initiatives.
  • Mentor and guide teammates in their career paths.
  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with FAA and Piper operational standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Relevant avionics electrical experience:
    • Assembler I: ≤ 2 years
    • Assembler II: 2 – 5 years
    • Senior Assembler: ≥ 5 years
    • Technician I: ≤ 2 years
    • Technician II: 2 – 5 years
    • Senior Technician: ≥ 5 years
  • Ability to work scheduled shifts, including overtime.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools as required.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and demonstrate effective communication skills.
