Your Responsibilities

As an Audit Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Directing and coordinating the various phases of an engagement, including staff requirements, locations to be visited, job planning, and scheduling with the Partner.
  • Planning the logistics of an engagement, including the work to be performed by other departments.
  • Studying and evaluating the internal controls used by the client and preparing or reviewing the work program and time budget (for subsequent approval by a Partner).
  • Evaluating working papers and determining that an engagement was performed in accordance with accepted auditing standards (or accounting principles).
  • Evaluating audit risks and communicating potential risks to a Partner.
  • Reviewing, documenting, and evaluating internal controls.
  • Tracking budget realization and overall time budgets.
  • Overseeing audit, review, and/or compilation work programs and answering staff questions.
  • Preparing or reviewing financial statements, notes, schedules, and management letters for later discussion with the Partner and client.
  • Serving as the main point of contact for multiple clients.
  • Actively participating in the development of staff by training and offering constructive feedback through working paper reviews; direct performance review feedback and working with the Partner group to determine staffing development areas.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of five years' experience in public accounting (or equivalent).
  • A CPA license in good standing.
  • An active Virginia Driver's License.
