Key Responsibilities- Technical Leadership: Serve as a technical subject matter expert for multiple areas of mechanical engineering, providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers.
- Project Management: Oversee all project design activities, ensure project quality, and meet project objectives, requirements, schedules, and budget.
- Team Supervision: Supervise and manage assigned engineers, providing training and support to ensure project success.
- Design and Engineering: Perform calculations, modeling, engineering, and code research as required, ensuring compliance with local, state, and national code requirements.
- Quality Control: Conduct peer review, technical oversight, and quality control of the design team's work products.
- Client Management: Organize and facilitate internal and external client meetings, ensuring that all action items are documented and completed.
- Project Coordination: Provide project coordination with all involved in the project, including internal, external, and sub-contractors.
- Bid Proposals: Collaborate with the group VP to develop and write bid proposals, contracts, cost estimates, budgets, and other project-related documents.
- Client Relationships: Establish and maintain excellent client relationships, with the goal of maintaining existing clients and receiving referrals for new clients.
- Project Accounting: Ensure accurate project accounting, including project setup, monthly invoicing, and accounts receivables.
- Professional Experience: Minimum 15 years of professional experience with proven progression in engineering and project management, particularly in power, distributive generation, or related fields.
- Technical Expertise: Experience in executing multi-discipline projects utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) programs or equivalent, and demonstrated knowledge and experience specifying and integrating industrial frame combustion turbines, natural gas and diesel internal combustion engines, heat recovery equipment, packaged boilers, chillers and heat pumps, cooling equipment, pumps, and balance of plant mechanical equipment into engineered systems.
- Education and Certifications: Valid PE License and Professional Engineer (PE) licensure required.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, strong technical writing skills, and the ability to prepare presentations and reports.
