Position Overview:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse at New York Health, you will be an integral part of a dedicated healthcare team committed to delivering exceptional patient care. Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by New York Health.
  • Maintain and update electronic patient records, assisting in the transition from paper to digital formats.
  • Manage the Physician inbox effectively, prioritizing tasks within the EMR system.
  • Conduct office callbacks to patients, physicians, and other healthcare facilities as necessary.
  • Assist in the management of medical inventory and place orders for supplies as required.
  • Prepare examination rooms for patient appointments, ensuring cleanliness and readiness.
  • Document patient information, including vital signs and medical history, prior to appointments.
  • Guide patients to exam rooms, perform interviews, and measure vital signs, documenting all relevant information.
  • Record patient interviews, histories, and chief complaints accurately.
  • Educate patients on medications, disease management, home treatments, and dietary needs.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, conduct routine screening tests, and support physicians during exams.
  • Perform basic laboratory tests, including phlebotomy and EKGs.
  • Administer injections and document medications as per physician's orders, adhering to the five rights of medication administration.

Qualifications:
  • Current New York State LPN license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Prior experience in a leadership role or demonstrated potential for such responsibilities.
  • Outpatient experience is preferred.
  • Consistent professional conduct and attention to detail are essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in OncoEMR is required.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and work on a computer.
  • Capability to stand, bend, and reach for prolonged periods.
  • Frequent exposure to chemicals, blood-borne pathogens, and bodily fluids.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations as required.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday

Compensation: Salary up to $40 per hour, commensurate with experience and education. Benefits include comprehensive tuition reimbursement for accredited nursing degrees, health insurance from day one, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability, a 401k plan, generous paid time off, and eight paid holidays (including two floating holidays).
