Heavy Equipment Technician

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team at Alaska Pacific Trucking Inc. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing complex commercial trucks and heavy equipment. With over 35 years of experience in the log trucking industry, we offer a unique opportunity to work with state-of-the-art vehicles and develop your skills as a senior mechanic.
Job Summary:
- Diagnose and repair commercial trucks and heavy equipment
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including greasing, oil changes, and filter replacements
- Operate and inspect machines to diagnose defects and ensure proper performance
- Overhaul and test machines to ensure operating efficiency
- Fit bearings and adjust equipment as needed
- Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools
Requirements:
- Associate's degree or training in vocational school
- 2-3 years of related experience
- Strong troubleshooting and repair skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with commercial trucking industry and heavy equipment
