Overview:

We are currently seeking Security Systems Technicians to operate in various locations. This position is a contract-to-hire opportunity, offering a pathway for career advancement and ongoing industry training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation of advanced Security Systems, including Cameras, Magnetic Locks, and Card Readers.
  • Installation and troubleshooting of diverse Access Control components such as panels, readers, strikes, and mag locks.
  • Installation and troubleshooting of both IP and analog cameras along with Network Video Recorders (NVRs).
  • Basic proficiency in CCTV client software installation (for both PC and mobile), including configuration tasks like adding/removing cameras, setting recording schedules, and retrieving footage.
  • Basic understanding of access control systems, including credential management, door scheduling, and access level configuration.
  • Fundamental IP networking skills, including switch and router configuration and port forwarding.
  • Installation and termination of low voltage security cabling (22/4, 20/4, CAT 5/E, CAT 6).
  • Dress and route cables from IT closets to device locations (Cameras, Magnetic Locks, Card Readers).
  • Construct Security equipment racks.
  • Install cable pathways using J-hooks and D-rings.
  • Manage cable organization (dressing and labeling).
  • Utilize various computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and CCTV/access control systems.
  • Interpret and adhere to blueprints for installation.
  • Communicate professionally with colleagues and management, both in writing and verbally.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines (including proper PPE usage, job site cleanup, and OSHA standards).

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in commercial Security installation.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Access Control installation.
  • At least 1 year of experience in IP addressing and troubleshooting.
  • Preferred: Security Manufacturer/Product Certifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
  • Preferred: Active OSHA 10 certification.
  • Preferred: Scissor/Boom Lift Certification.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work on ladders/scissor lifts, in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds, and move up to 75 pounds. Must be able to stand for extended periods.

Tools Required: Basic hand tools including multi-bit screwdrivers, tape measures, snips, pliers (needle nose and channel locks), punch down tools, flashlights, and appropriate work boots (steel toe or composite toe), gloves, and tool pouches.
