Position Overview

Better Tomorrows is a dedicated non-profit organization focused on combating poverty through a variety of programs and supportive services. Our mission is to enhance the lives of over 26,000 residents living in affordable housing across numerous communities nationwide, including Hawaii and the Virgin Islands.

We are seeking a committed, innovative, and dependable individual to facilitate the coordination of activities, programs, and services for seniors and individuals with disabilities. This part-time role requires approximately 20 hours per week and is ideal for someone who has a passion for working with the elderly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote the organization’s vision and ensure effective service delivery at affordable housing sites, catering to residents, individuals with disabilities, and families by aligning programs with their needs and interests.
  • Oversee all aspects of programming and service provision in collaboration with community partners.
  • Design and execute on-site initiatives that address resident needs, including:
    • Adult education and job readiness training
    • Computer literacy courses
    • Food banks and financial literacy programs to foster stability and self-sufficiency
    • Health and wellness initiatives aimed at enhancing physical, mental, and overall well-being
  • Organize community-wide events that focus on creating safe and resilient neighborhoods.
  • Engage in regular on-site meetings with partners.
  • Assess community needs and resident feedback to develop and implement relevant services.
  • Provide individualized case management support to residents.
  • Build and maintain key community partnerships to enhance available programs and services for residents.
  • Document case management progress, demographic data, and program outcomes.
  • Adopt a customer-centric approach that guarantees high-quality service delivery in a compassionate environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Two to three years of experience in social service delivery.
  • A degree in a related field is advantageous.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with affordable housing and local social service resources.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Apps, and other relevant software.
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, with some flexibility.
  • Capability to safely lift up to 25 pounds.
