Adapted Physical Education Specialist

We are seeking a credentialed adapted physical education specialist to provide individual or small groups of students with adapted physical education instruction that meets adapted physical education needs or goals.
The ideal candidate will have a valid California Adaptive Physical Education Specialist credential and an English Learner authorization.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing individual or small groups of students with adapted physical education instruction that meets adapted physical education needs or goals.
- Traveling to various locations for the provision of adapted physical education services and assessment.
- Completing comprehensive motor assessments of individuals with disabilities and providing specific program recommendations.
- Providing direct services to students who are eligible and require APE services.
- Consulting with other IEP team members about student needs in the area of APE.
- Monitoring student progress.
- Preparing lesson plans in accordance with individualized education plans (IEPs) and the functional abilities or needs of students.
- Collecting data and maintaining thorough student records to document attendance, participation, or progress, ensuring confidentiality of all records.
- Maintaining inventory of instructional equipment, materials, or aids.
- Evaluating the motor needs of individual students to determine their need for adapted physical education services.
- Preparing annual reports including present levels of performance, progress on goals and proposed goals.
- Participating in progress reporting and monitoring throughout the academic year as needed.
- Attending IEP meetings.
- Attending all required staff meetings.
Requirements include:
- A valid California Adaptive Physical Education Specialist credential and an English Learner authorization.
- A copy of transcripts.
- A credential copy (must be CA Credential) with APE Add On Authorization.
- A letter of introduction.
- Letters of recommendation (minimum of two letters).
- A resume.
