MRI Technologist Opportunities at St. Peter's Health Partners

We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at St. Peter's Health Partners. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic MRI scans in accordance with departmental standards.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain and record a complete clinical history pertinent to the examination requested.
- Evaluate requests for appropriateness and refer concerns to the coordinator and/or radiologist.
- Instruct patients as to the nature of the exam being performed.
- Effectively communicate with patients throughout the exam.
- Follow established scan protocols or radiologist's special instructions.
- Demonstrate appropriate use of equipment and accessories.
- Select appropriate technical factors for the requested imaging exam.
- Assist in the instruction of student technologists and new personnel.
- Demonstrate accurate positioning and ensure patient comfort.
- Demonstrate proper screening procedures for contraindications to MRI examination.
- Ensure proper magnetic field safety at all times.
- Demonstrate knowledge of all MRI emergency procedures.
- Provide proper hearing protection to all patients and visitors.
- Effectively complete all required documentation related to patient care, imaging procedures, and RIS requirements.
- Document and report all incidents, radiation safety concerns, and equipment malfunctions to the coordinator in a timely fashion.
- AAS Degree in Radiologic Technology.
- 1 year of CT and/or MRI experience.
- Current ARRT registration and NYS license required.
