KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The American Red Cross is seeking a dedicated Manager for Blood Services in the region. The Regional Blood Services Manager will oversee donor services initiatives at the regional level to achieve organizational goals. This role involves collaboration on project teams across all levels and leading change management efforts. Responsibilities include:

  1. Developing and executing operational plans to enhance collection efficiency, minimize waste, and improve donor satisfaction.
  2. Implementing effective recruitment strategies and overseeing account management to meet system and patient needs.
  3. Supervising multiple departmental managers to ensure annual collection targets are met efficiently and cost-effectively.
  4. Creating and monitoring process improvement initiatives and staff training protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  5. Partnering with regional executives to engage community and volunteer involvement in Red Cross activities.
  6. Monitoring budgets and operational results to align with the organization's low-cost producer strategy.
  7. Maintaining a long-term perspective and adapting to strategic changes while effectively communicating with staff.
  8. Recognizing and motivating staff to enhance engagement and reduce turnover.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Master's degree preferred.
Experience: At least 10 years in a dynamic operational environment with budget responsibilities; healthcare or pharmaceutical experience preferred.
Management Experience: Minimum of 7 years in a leadership role.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, and a strong team-oriented approach. Proven ability to attract, motivate, and retain talent, along with effective problem-solving skills and business acumen.

TRAVEL: This position may require travel.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical demands of this role include regular sitting, using hands for tasks, and effective communication. The employee may need to lift and move items up to 30 pounds and work in a moderate noise environment.
