Position Overview

The Production Supervisor plays a crucial role in guiding hourly staff and managing the daily production schedule within a high-output printed production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Directing, assigning, and instructing production team members to ensure efficient task completion with a strong focus on quality.
  • Ensuring production areas are well-organized, inventory is adequately stocked, and alerting relevant departments when stock levels fall below set thresholds.
  • Upholding and enforcing departmental standards, including safety protocols and regulations, while promoting continuous improvement and productivity techniques.
  • Assisting in the performance management of production associates, including conducting performance evaluations, providing training, and making recommendations.
  • Collaborating with the Human Resources Department to recruit, hire, and cross-train new team members.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of workspaces in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Enforcing company safety policies and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or manufacturing-related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience overseeing 20 or more direct reports in a high-volume, labor-intensive packaging or light assembly setting.
  • Proficient understanding of production planning and process flow within a manufacturing context.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality assurance, and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Prior experience in leadership training, mentoring, or coaching is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Highly organized with a focus on operational efficiency.
  • Experience or training in ISO 9001 standards and/or Continuous Improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma.
