The Scheduling Planning Analyst II role is pivotal in crafting flight schedules and exploring innovative scenarios while balancing operational and commercial requirements.
The Network Planning team is integral to the airline's strategic direction; thus, this role demands strong analytical skills and effective communication across various departments and management levels.
This position involves collaboration with internal teams, executive leadership, and external partners throughout the commercial aviation industry.
Given the diverse responsibilities, we seek a candidate adept at managing multiple challenges simultaneously and resolving them efficiently under pressure.
Key Responsibilities- Develop the Spirit Airlines flight schedule to optimize commercial performance while ensuring operational efficiency for timely operations.
- Create alternative scheduling scenarios to enhance current practices and explore new opportunities.
- Implement last-minute schedule adjustments for commercial and operational needs, particularly in a dynamic economic landscape.
- Adjust the fleet plan based on daily changing inputs.
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities to implement and modify aircraft schedules, including communication with international stations.
- Assist in the distribution of schedules both internally and externally, ensuring accurate maintenance in our reservation system and third-party channels.
- Identify strategies to enhance the commercial appeal of the schedule from both an aircraft capacity and market timing perspective.
- Manage gate assignments at airports to align the schedule with facility capabilities.
- Collaborate with Operations Control, Maintenance, Ground Operations, and other departments in the daily schedule development process.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, with responsibilities subject to change based on operational needs.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Economics, Business Administration, Aviation, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in Economics, Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, Aviation, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access).
- Ability to create high-quality, professional PowerPoint presentations to effectively communicate data.
- Familiarity with scheduling software such as Sabre, Schedule Manager, OASIS, and GDS/PSS systems like Sabre, Navitaire, or Amadeus is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of the commercial aviation landscape, including competitive dynamics and current events.
- Capability to work under pressure with tight deadlines, balancing commercial and contractual obligations.
- Domestic and international travel may be required, up to 10% of the time.
- Ability to exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects.
- Position involves primarily sitting, with occasional walking or standing.
- 100% in-office presence is expected.
