Distinguishing CharacteristicsThe CDC Preschool Teacher will plan and participate in the care and instruction of children aged 18 months to 5 years. This position requires a strong commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the overall well-being of young children.
Work ScheduleMonday to Friday, 4 hours per day
Requirements and QualificationsEducationA high school diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of 12 semester units or equivalent in Early Childhood Education, including Child/Human Growth and Development, Child, Family and Community, and Program/Curriculum, is also required. A degree in Early Childhood Education is highly desirable.
ExperienceTwo years of experience in a group childcare setting is highly desirable.
Licenses and CertificationsA valid California driver's license and current DMV report are required. The successful candidate must also possess and maintain current First Aid and CPR certification.
Certifications and TestingThe successful candidate must pass the District's applicable proficiency exam with a satisfactory score. Additionally, they must obtain Criminal Justice and FBI Fingerprint Clearance, a negative pre-employment drug screen test, a pre-employment physical exam, and a negative TB test result, with periodic post-employment retests as required.
