Job Overview

Unison Systems Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer III to join our team. As a key member of our national telecommunications client, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated access and CPE device field issues.
  • Perform assessments on existing technologies to determine performance and capacity gaps.
  • Establish security, connectivity, and access parameters.
  • Provide recommendations to optimize network infrastructure.
  • Test and tune security devices and systems.
  • Program routers and switches.
  • Implement communications technologies (data or voice).
  • Manage network services from planning phase through implementation.
Requirements
  • 10 years of experience in network engineering.
  • Advanced knowledge of DOCSIS and EPON standards.
  • Working knowledge of CMTS platforms, including Casa C100G, Arris E6000, and Cisco cBR8.
  • Knowledge of RPHY, Harmonic vCMTS and RPDs, and Vecima RPDs.
  • Working knowledge of EPON platforms, including ADTRAN 95XX and SDX-6210, and Vecima (Nokia) 7360 and Distributed Access Architecture SF-4x, SC-2D3.
  • Working knowledge of switch platforms, including Cisco NCS/ASR and Juniper PTX/QFX/ACX.
  • Working knowledge of routing protocols, including OSPF, ISIS, BGP, and v4/v6 Multicast.
  • Ability to write technical documentation and follow detailed technical test plans.
  • CPE and ONU background in trouble shooting is highly desirable.
