We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Pediatrics Neonatology at McGovern Medical School. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide advanced nursing care to patients with complex acute, critical, and/or chronic health conditions in a clinic or hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct complex patient evaluations and assessments, and provide appropriate treatment, including monitoring and ordering medications.
- Coordinate, direct, and implement patient care plans, working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Perform physical examinations, provide episodic care, and problem-oriented care under the supervision of a physician.
- Order and interpret laboratory, diagnostic, and radiographic tests, and monitor treatment programs to inform attending physicians of pertinent medical information.
- Facilitate patient education on medical processes, medication, nutrition, and health promotion or preventative health care.
- Assist physicians in formulating therapeutic decisions and maintain accurate records and charts.
- Current Texas licensure as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) - Nurse Practitioner (NP)
- Current specialty certification as required by department, excluding Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification unless paired with a post-master's certification in specialty
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or specialty certification as required by department
- Masters in Nursing as NP or Masters in Nursing with completion of a post-master's Nurse Practitioner Certification Program
