Job OverviewAs a key member of our team at Retina-Vitreous Associates Medical Group, we are seeking a highly skilled Medical Receptionist to provide exceptional patient care and administrative support. Estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 per year.

Responsibilities
  • Welcome patients by greeting and assisting them through the check-in and check-out process.
  • Acknowledge and enter accurately all relevant patient information and forms.
  • Process payments, co-pays, deductibles, and balance payments in a timely manner.
  • Verify authorizations prior to appointments and request additional authorization as necessary.
  • Schedule appointments according to physician scheduling policies and managerial guidelines.
  • Prepare patient files for external requesters when needed.
  • Confirm appointments daily with patients and respond to phone calls from patients to answer questions, reschedule appointments, and follow up on 'no-show' patients.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and insurance procedures.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMRs) and practice management software.
