Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join our team at Herbal Goodness. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate information and answer customer questions about products and services
  • Process transactions, layaways, returns, and exchanges using the POS system
  • Cross-sell and up-sell products to customers
  • Keep the store floor area clean and organized at all times
  • Ensure shelves are fully stocked and notify a superior when items need to be restocked
  • Inform customers about discounts and special offers
  • Provide customer feedback to the Store Manager
  • Stay up-to-date with new products, services, and promotions
  • Ring up sales and arrange for delivery or pick-up of customer orders
  • Invite customers to join a loyalty program
  • Fulfill inventory, product packing, labeling, shipping, and receiving tasks
  • Enter sales data and customer data into the company database
  • Maintain adequate change denominations in the cash drawer
  • Reconcile cash drawers and sales receipts
  • Report issues with equipment
  • Work as a team to meet store sales goals
  • Handle customer complaints
  • Track transactions on balance sheets and report any discrepancies
  • Bag, box, or gift-wrap packages

Experience and Education
  • Proven work experience as a Retail & Sales Representative, Sales Associate, or similar role
  • Understanding of the retail sales process
  • Familiarity with consumer behavior principles
  • Knowledge of inventory stocking procedures
  • Track record of achieving sales quotas
  • Ability to perform in fast-paced environments
  • Familiarity with POS (point of sale) systems and the ability to learn new technologies
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Familiarity with up-selling and cross-selling
  • BSc in Marketing or a related field
  • Highly knowledgeable of herbs and alternative remedies in order to be able to advise customers on herbal blends etc
  • Should know how to drive
