Your Impact: The Healthcare Support Specialist is integral to the patient experience, serving as the initial point of contact and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. This role is essential in delivering patient care by monitoring vital signs, preparing individuals for assessments, and assisting with minor medical tasks, thereby enhancing the overall efficiency of healthcare delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for examinations, including vital signs and health history updates.
- Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding patient conditions and test results.
- Assist in minor procedures and maintain sterile environments.
- Educate patients about procedures and provide necessary information.
- Manage patient flow to align with scheduling needs.
- Coordinate lab tests and manage prescription orders.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and maintain confidentiality.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse is necessary.
- BCLS certification is mandatory.
- Experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Documented proficiency in performing blood draws is required.
