Your Role in the Team

As a vital member of our team, you will bring extensive experience in heavy civil projects, specifically in highway and transit sectors. Your primary responsibility will be to create detailed cost estimates using a comprehensive approach. This includes developing preliminary estimates at various design stages while meticulously tracking changes in scope throughout the project lifecycle. You may also assist clients in the assessment and analysis of construction claims.
  • Minimum of five years of experience with HeavyBid software.
  • Capability to deliver Class I through IV estimates, adhering to industry standards.
  • Comprehensive understanding of typical labor, equipment, and materials required for specific project scopes.
  • Ability to assess factors affecting pricing, including location, project type, and quantities.
  • Oversee and prepare cost estimates for heavy civil projects, focusing on transportation, through quantity takeoffs and pricing evaluations.
  • Work independently while managing communication and deadlines with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Review and provide feedback on estimates prepared by colleagues.
  • Evaluate project scope changes and negotiate settlements based on labor, equipment, and material reviews.
  • Conduct project constructability and value engineering assessments.
  • Perform unique cost analyses as requested by Project Managers or Clients.
  • Develop and recommend company guidelines for estimating practices.
  • Research and analyze data to support clients with construction claims.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field, preferably in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline, along with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. Extensive experience with major Heavy Civil Contractors is advantageous.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is between $130,000 and $155,000 annually, based on skills, experience, and geographical location.

All candidates must complete a drug screening and background check upon acceptance of an offer. AtkinsRalis is a federal contractor, which requires a satisfactory background screening report and drug test that supersedes state laws.
