Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients, rooms, and equipment for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are properly disinfected and assembled.
  • Assist during surgical procedures as part of the surgical team, including preparing the sterile field and providing supportive care during the pre-operative phase.
  • Monitor vital signs and observe patient status during procedures.
  • Perform scrub functions, including passing sterile surgical equipment to surgeons, cutting sutures, tracking items used, and collecting and labeling specimens.
  • Ensure operating rooms are clean, sterile, and stocked prior to next procedures.
  • Perform clerical duties, such as ordering supplies, maintaining logs, and supporting administrative staff as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited surgical technology training program.
  • Certification as a surgical technologist from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
  • One month of job-related experience and/or training.
  • BLS certification.
