Student Athlete Therapist Specialist

Job Summary

The Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences is seeking a highly skilled Student Athlete Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our mental health services team, you will provide a wide range of psychological services to student athletes on our campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual counseling services to student athletes, including crisis intervention, psychotherapeutic, situational, relational, and developmental counseling.
  • Implement evidence-based therapy programs and services to support the mental health and well-being of student athletes.
  • Assist in the administration of drug testing for student athletes.
  • Utilize technology to provide off-site services and support to student athletes.
  • Build relationships with community partners to establish a referral platform for student athletes.
  • Provide statistical reports on student engagement with mental health services.
  • Document all patient interactions in our electronic medical record system.
  • Participate in committees and meetings as assigned by the Team Psychiatrist.
Requirements
  • Master's or Doctorate degree in counseling, psychology, marriage and family therapy, social work, or a closely related mental health field.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a counseling or mental health setting.
  • Licensed or license-eligible as a professional counselor, social worker, or marriage and family therapist.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in working with college populations.
  • Background in working with athletes and/or high performers.
  • Ability to empathize with diverse clients.
  • Experience in developing, teaching, and presenting behavioral health-related classes and activity-based workshops.
