Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing college and career readiness programs, providing guidance and support to students, teachers, and parents, and maintaining accurate records of student participation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement college and career readiness programs, including workshops, counseling sessions, and academic support services.
  • Provide guidance and support to students, teachers, and parents on college and career readiness, including academic planning, financial aid, and post-secondary options.
  • Maintain accurate records of student participation in college and career readiness programs, including tracking student progress and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with school staff, community organizations, and higher education institutions to provide students with access to college and career readiness resources and opportunities.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in laws and policies related to college and career readiness, and ensure that programs and services are aligned with these requirements.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase student participation and success in college and career readiness programs.
  • Provide training and support to school staff on college and career readiness, including academic planning, financial aid, and post-secondary options.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Master's degree desirable.
  • Possession of a California Pupil Personal Services Credential (PPS) in counseling desirable.
  • Four years of experience in counseling in a k-12 environment, with experience in college and career readiness preferred.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn, interpret and apply Visions In Education's objectives, policies, procedures, rules, regulations and operations.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn and use applicable sections of the California Education Code, Charter law and other pertinent laws.
