Position Overview

As a Facilities Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel facilities. Your responsibilities will include responding to guest repair requests and effectively communicating with guests to resolve maintenance issues with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, ensuring they are clean and well-lubricated.
  • Conduct visual inspections of tools, equipment, and machinery.
  • Identify and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and buildings.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of maintenance supplies and requisition parts as necessary.
  • Document daily activities and issues to ensure seamless communication across shifts.

Technical Skills

Demonstrate proficiency in one of the following areas, with above-average skills in two additional categories and basic skills in the remaining areas:

  • Air conditioning and refrigeration
  • Electrical systems
  • Plumbing
  • Pneumatic and electronic systems
  • Carpentry and finishing
  • Kitchen equipment maintenance
  • Energy conservation
  • General building management

Maintenance Duties

Utilize hand and power tools safely to perform repair and maintenance tasks. Responsibilities include:

  • Basic repairs on plumbing and electrical systems.
  • Programming TVs and assisting with general housekeeping duties.
  • Surface preparation, painting, and minor repairs to drywall and wood trim.
  • Replacing light bulbs and air conditioning filters.
  • Following Lockout/Tagout procedures before performing maintenance work.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, along with vocational or technical training.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in hotel engineering or maintenance.
  • A valid driver's license and Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification.
