Job Overview:

Soliant is in search of a committed and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our educational team. This position is dedicated to supporting high school students with varied learning requirements. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about creating an inclusive educational atmosphere and devoted to guiding students in reaching their academic and personal aspirations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruction & Support: Deliver personalized and small-group instruction to high school students with special needs, customized to their unique learning objectives.
  • Reinforcement: Provide assistance during study halls and other academic sessions to strengthen classroom learning and offer additional support as necessary.
  • Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate completion of all necessary documentation, including Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), progress reports, and assessments.
  • Collaboration: Partner with general education teachers, school counselors, and parents to create and execute effective educational strategies and interventions.
  • Behavior Management: Implement and oversee behavioral interventions and supports to cultivate a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Professional Development: Keep abreast of best practices in special education, educational technologies, and relevant regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Certification: A valid teaching license with an endorsement in Special Education is required.
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field is necessary; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with high school students in a special education context is preferred but not essential.
  • Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities. Capability to manage diverse classroom settings and adapt instruction to meet individual needs.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) and state special education regulations.
  • Technology Proficiency: Comfortable utilizing educational technology and software to enhance instruction and documentation.

Work Schedule:

  • Standard workweek is Monday through Thursday.
  • Occasional work on Fridays may be required based on school needs and administrative responsibilities.
