Position Overview

As a Nursing Education Specialist, you will champion excellence in clinical nursing practices and play a pivotal role in the professional advancement of nursing personnel through educational initiatives and development activities aligned with the strategic objectives of our organization.

Your daily responsibilities will include assessing the educational needs of nursing staff. You will be tasked with collaboratively executing educational strategies and priorities as determined by nursing leadership. In this capacity, you will serve as a mentor and advocate for interdisciplinary collaboration and evidence-based practices.

Success in this role requires a demonstrated ability to foster professional development, encourage a growth-oriented mindset among peers, and promote an inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, research, coordinate, implement, and assess educational and professional development programs as directed by nursing leadership.
  • Act as a role model and clinical expert, providing mentorship and leadership within the nursing division.
  • Consult on organizational and divisional initiatives related to nursing practice and program development.
  • Proactively seek and apply evidence-based practices to enhance clinical excellence and education.
  • Provide clinical leadership in quality improvement projects.
  • Facilitate nursing transitions to practice and ongoing professional development through comprehensive onboarding and orientation programs.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of educational resources, utilizing adult learning principles and organizational development strategies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
  • Current RN licensure in the applicable state or nurse licensure compact.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory upon hire.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience, with a focus on developing and implementing clinical education programs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and adhere to deadlines.
  • Proficient in advanced nursing skills and critical thinking in complex scenarios.
  • A Master's Degree in Nursing or enrollment in a Master's program within five years of employment is preferred.
