United Cerebral Palsy of Georgia is seeking a dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live a Life Without Limits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist individuals with daily tasks such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and transportation.
  • Engage residents in activities of choice, reinforcing Individualized Support Plan (ISP) goals.
  • Provide transportation and supervision as dictated by individual program.
  • Ensure accurate recording of daily activities, problems, and needs of residents in daily logs.
  • Meet personal hygiene and grooming needs of residents.
  • Use proper body mechanics to lift, move, and position residents, and provide prescribed exercises and physical care.
  • Inspect homes to ensure safety requirements are met, checking for clutter and hazardous objects.
  • Conduct evacuation drills and follow program plans for emergencies and disasters.
  • Clean and sanitize appliances, utensils, and work surfaces according to Personal Care Home Rules and Regulations.
  • Cook and prepare meals.
  • Report equipment problems to supervisors.
  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms, kitchen, and telephones daily.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
  • Uphold confidentiality requirements and protect client rights.
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift a minimum of 50lb with or without reasonable accommodations.
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license.
  • CPR/FA certification.
  • 1-2 years' experience working with individuals with disabilities or related field preferred.
  • Basic computer skills.
