Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler/Brazer to join our team at ATS Automation Tooling Systems. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for preparing and assembling various mechanical systems and components, as well as fabricating simpler components using a range of tools and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and assemble mechanical systems and components under the direction of the immediate supervisor.
  • Interpret and use technical drawings, process procedures, and other written documentation to complete preparation and assembly tasks.
  • Fabricate simpler components using hand tools, power tools, fixtures, jigs, drills, taps, saws, and other equipment.
  • Form, prepare, and align copper, brass, and plastic piping, as well as associated bracketing and hardware.
  • Braze, solder, and bond piping as required.
  • Mount various assemblies and components.
  • Perform required metal treatment processes, including polishing, painting, and passivation.
  • Meet documented specification requirements and quality standards in a cost-effective and timely manner.
  • Use various types of material handling equipment, including hand trucks, carts, forklifts, scissor lifts, cranes, etc., where required and available.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area.
  • Suggest changes for improved operations and cost savings.
  • Complete paperwork accurately and in a timely manner, including time and attendance sheets, assembly routers, non-conformance records, and test records.
  • Follow all safety policies, precautions, recommendations, and procedures as applicable.
  • Assist other production departments or operations areas based on workloads and needs.
Requirements
  • Welding, soldering, and brazing experience or certification is a plus.
  • Fork Truck Driver's License is a plus.
  • Technical School is a plus.
  • Previous experience is a plus.
  • The employee is regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment

  • Working in compliance with divisional health, safety, and environmental procedures.

  • Reporting any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts.
  • Reporting defect in any equipment or protective device.
  • Ensuring that the required protective equipment is used for the assigned tasks.
  • Attending all required health, safety, and environmental training.
  • Reporting any accidents/incidents to supervisor.
  • Assisting in investigating accidents/incidents.
  • Refraining from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running, or rough and boisterous conduct.
