Job Description
This Manufacturing Operations Manager position offers an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to the success of our organization. As a key member of our plant engineering function, you will oversee the maintenance and planning of facility assets to achieve high performance levels and ensure compliance. Your responsibilities will include:
• Capital Management: Ensure responsible capital management for equipment and facility.
• Equipment Care: Develop, evaluate, and improve equipment care methods and processes with a focus on maximizing Fabri-Kal equipment utilization and longevity with efficient use of resources.
• Equipment Design and Facilities, Support Equipment, and Grounds Maintenance: Suggest equipment design changes aimed to improve operational efficiency. Maintain the upkeep of plant facilities and grounds required to support continuing operations and growth, delivering consistent, reliable utilities to the manufacturing shop floor.
• Lean Management: Apply lean manufacturing techniques to reduce consumption and waste and work with plant manufacturing value streams to coordinate activities and achieve asset utilization objectives.
• Scheduling: Work with other managers to ensure schedules are met, problems addressed, and improvements are implemented.
• Workforce Utilization: Optimize workforce utilization of hourly employees through salary direct reports, ensuring the team has effective work strategy, detailed planning, and 'down day' execution, as well as effective skills development systems required to support the system.
Required Skills and Qualifications
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience, as well as 5 years of technical management experience. A strong understanding of mechanical and electrical principles and applications is essential, as is the ability to visualize various postings, bulletin boards, and computer monitors/screens. The successful candidate will also need to heed safety warnings, devices, and alarms, and possess adequate ability to do problem-solving and establish cause-and-effect relationships in an office and/or manufacturing environment.
