The Weekend Morning Anchor/Reporter will be responsible for delivering high-quality news content to our audience on weekends. This includes anchoring live newscasts, reporting on breaking news stories, and developing exclusive content.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Anchor Live Newscasts: Deliver scripted and ad-lib material with professionalism, personality, and purpose.
  • Report Breaking News: Work with and guide reporters and producers in newscast production.
  • Develop Exclusive Content: Plan, gather, and assemble stories on day-of news or special project assignments.
  • Coordinate with News Managers: Coordinate with news managers and producers to develop stories that go beyond surface details, that accentuate unique enterprise angles, and have exclusive content.
  • Build a Network of Sources: Develop a network of sources who provide tips, early access to information, and allow the reporter to break stories of significance.
  • Represent the Station: Appear on behalf of the station at public events.
  • Contribute to Mobile Platforms: Will contribute pictures, video, and text updates to mobile platforms throughout the day.
  • Meet Deadlines: Work on different stories and projects at once and meeting all deadlines.
  • Summarize Information: Summarize information into easy-to-understand components.
Requirements:
  • Anchor Experience: 2+ years of anchor experience required.
  • Reporting Experience: 2+ years of reporting experience required.
  • Demo Reel: Your demo reel is indicative of your everyday work.
  • Anchor Skills: Anchor that connects with viewers, in addition to reporting skills.
  • Technical Skills: Operate mobile transmission devices and use latest technology.
  • Physical Demands: Can work in all weather conditions, work varied shifts, including overnights and weekends, and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Driver's License: Have a valid driver's license and a clear driving record.
  • Journalistic Integrity: Have and exhibit unwavering journalistic integrity and ethical standards.
  • Stress Management: Can deal with the stresses and pressures of time-sensitive newscast production.
  • Related Experience: Related military experience will be considered.
