Lead Financial Analyst Job Description

Overview: The Lead Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in managing the monthly financial closing activities for both divisional and corporate entities. This position involves scrutinizing and preparing journal entries, evaluating and disseminating financial reports, spearheading projects, and mentoring fellow Finance Department personnel.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and disseminate financial reports across various divisions with unique product offerings.
  • Investigate inventory expenses and deliver monthly cost assessments.
  • Spot reporting discrepancies, document issues, and propose corrective measures.
  • Assist with D365 ERP system inquiries, providing support to all divisions.
  • Oversee projects to ensure that goals and deadlines are achieved.
  • Assess existing processes for potential efficiencies.
  • Manage subsidiary ledgers, including fixed asset management and lease accounting.
  • Guide Finance team members to enhance their expertise.
  • Execute other related tasks as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance.
  • A minimum of three years of accounting experience.
  • Experience in a distribution or manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft D365 is advantageous.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledgeable in generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Exhibits a mindset geared towards continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrates the ability to lead projects and teams effectively.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Expertise in problem analysis and resolution.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Able to work independently with minimal oversight.
