Summary:


In this role, you will operate under broad supervision, executing advanced accounting functions related to assurance standards while managing a team of associates dedicated to client service.

Your responsibilities will include planning, budgeting, and overseeing the execution of engagements, as well as delegating tasks to ensure the timely completion of report products.

This position requires a deep understanding of advanced accounting principles, typically gained through several years of supervisory experience, alongside the ability to manage diverse business operations, maintain positive client relationships, and deliver high-quality outcomes for the firm.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and hold team members accountable.
  • Understand and assist in executing growth strategies (research calls, pipeline management, etc.).
  • Oversee engagement project management, billing, and ensure adherence to quality control standards.
  • Provide exceptional client care (meet deadlines, maintain timely communication).
  • Develop the engagement team, preparing seniors for advancement.

Essential Functions:

  • Demonstrate technical proficiency and management skills to plan, budget, and oversee complete audit and client engagements, including the preparation of reporting products, in line with MGO's policies and practices.
  • Exhibit strong project management capabilities, leading a team to deliver products and services efficiently and on time.
  • Supervise lower-level staff, delegating tasks and reviewing work performed by Associates and Senior Associates before client presentation.
  • Display expertise in specific areas or departments within the firm.
  • Resolve technical and client service issues independently.
  • Identify and leverage opportunities to provide additional services to clients.
  • Monitor and manage hourly yields on engagements or client billings, pursuing cost savings and encouraging innovative ideas.
  • Prepare billing documentation in accordance with firm procedures and communicate with clients to ensure satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of associates, management, partners, and clients.
  • Act as a mentor to lower-level associates, providing timely feedback and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Participate actively in professional associations.
  • Assist in firm management and administrative functions as directed by partners.
  • Manage personnel responsibilities such as hiring, promotions, and performance feedback.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in public or corporate accounting, with a minimum of 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Proven ability to assign work, guide employees, and complete projects within budget and on time.
  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or equivalent coursework.
  • Professional Certification required: CPA License or Chartered Accountant designation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with direct reports, management, and clients.

$140,000-$180,000
