The Environmental Services Aide is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards across Memorial Healthcare facilities. The Aide utilizes a range of cleaning agents and disinfectants to ensure all surfaces are properly sanitized. Duties include wiping down equipment, making beds, emptying waste receptacles, and replenishing necessary supplies. Additionally, the Aide collects soiled linens from patient areas.

The position emphasizes superior performance, contributing positively to the overall patient and family experience. A strong understanding of patient and family-centered care is essential.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for cleaning designated areas thoroughly, including dust mopping, mopping, and vacuuming as per departmental protocols.
- Daily emptying, cleaning, and sanitizing of all waste containers, with a monthly deep clean of utility receptacles.
- Regular cleaning of water fountains and damp wiping of furniture.
- Cleaning of windows, window sills, screens, and frames.
- Spot washing of walls and polishing of mirrors as required.
- Comprehensive cleaning of restrooms, including tiles, fixtures, and vents.
- Replenishing supplies such as paper towels, soap, and tissues as needed.
- Detailed cleaning of patient rooms, ensuring all furniture and surfaces are sanitized.
- Monitoring the condition of floors and reporting any maintenance needs to supervisors.
- Maintaining a fully stocked supply cart at the end of each shift.

DEPARTMENTAL AND ADDITIONAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Attend required meetings.
2. Perform duties at off-site locations as necessary.
3. Other responsibilities as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: High School diploma or G.E.D. is required.
EXPERIENCE: Previous experience in housekeeping is preferred, with on-the-job training provided.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
This role requires frequent standing, kneeling, and crouching. Daily tasks may involve moving about, sitting, climbing stairs, and bending. The Aide must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 lbs and may need to push or pull heavier items.

ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL ABILITIES:
Proficiency in using modern office and cleaning equipment is necessary.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
The ability to interact professionally with co-workers, hospital staff, patients, and the public is crucial. Effective communication skills are required to maintain a positive work environment.
