Work Schedule

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you may be tasked with a variety of essential functions, including but not limited to:

  • Diagnosing issues, disassembling units, and executing repairs or replacements across various systems, such as:
    • Braking Systems: Repairing or replacing shoes, pads, drums, hoses, calipers, and cylinders.
    • Cooling Systems: Flushing radiators, replacing hoses, thermostats, and repairing radiators and water pumps.
    • Drive Systems: Repairing driveshafts, differentials, axles, and various transmission types.
    • Electrical Systems: Repairing or replacing fuses, batteries, lights, and wiring.
    • Exhaust Systems: Replacing mufflers, catalytic converters, and exhaust pipes.
    • Heating and A/C: Repairing heater cores, condensers, and recharging air conditioning systems.
    • Hydraulic Systems: Repairing pumps, hoses, and cylinders.
    • Steering and Suspension: Aligning wheels and repairing steering components.
  • Overhauling engines and performing routine maintenance tasks.
  • Installing equipment such as snowplow frames and hydraulic systems.
  • Utilizing welding and cutting tools for repairs and fabrication.
  • Conducting inspections and troubleshooting using diagnostic equipment.
  • Maintaining accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  • Testing equipment post-repair to ensure functionality.
  • Keeping the workspace organized and tools in good condition.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of three years of experience in equipment repair, ideally under the mentorship of a seasoned mechanic.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • A valid Michigan Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with necessary endorsements.
  • State certifications in relevant mechanical systems.
