Job Overview

The Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta is seeking a dedicated and creative individual to join our team as an After-School Program Staff member. As a key member of our Club J program, you will be responsible for providing a safe and engaging environment for children in grades preK-5.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet the physical, social, and emotional needs of children in your care
  • Direct supervision of children in your group
  • Positive management and leadership of groups
  • Leading activities, including homework, arts and crafts, sports, cooking, and team-building exercises
  • Flexibility and adaptability in responding to changing activity needs
  • Following instructions and curriculum of the Club J program
  • Responsible for check-in and check-out procedures of child participants
  • Adhering to Club J and MJCCA policies and procedures
  • Keeping track of children's whereabouts at all times

Requirements:

  • Professional behavior and attitude
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized and creative
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Able to work without direct supervision
  • Reliable and excellent attendance
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with children ages 5-12
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid

Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this role include moving from standing to crouching to sitting on the floor and back to standing, with the ability to lift children weighing a minimum of 50 lbs.
