Georgia Legal Services Program is a leader in creating equal access to justice and opportunities out of poverty for low-income Georgians. We fight for justice where it is most needed. The Piedmont office is seeking a staff attorney to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Litigate cases in administrative, state and federal forums, utilizing strong research and writing skills.
  • Draft and submit briefs, motions, and memoranda to support our clients' cases.
  • Engage in circuit riding to assigned counties, providing legal services to those in need.
  • Conduct community legal education sessions and participate in outreach activities to promote access to justice.
  • Collaborate with action teams to identify and address systemic issues affecting our clients.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited law school and current member of the Georgia Bar, with experience working with low-income individuals and a commitment to social justice.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, demonstrating a professional and courteous demeanor.
  • Proficiency in computer programs, including email, Excel, Word, SharePoint, and LegalServer.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid Georgia driver's license are required.
  • Spanish language proficiency is highly valued, but not required.
  • Demonstrated interest or experience working with low-income clients on poverty law issues and a commitment to social justice.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations, backgrounds, and perspectives.
  • Excellent oral advocacy, research, and writing skills.
  • Attention to detail and self-motivation are essential.
  • Ability to be creative and a team player.
Benefits

The salary range for this position is $58,250-$77,200, with the potential for higher compensation based on experience and qualifications. The program offers a comprehensive benefits package, including paid holidays, paid time off, health, life, and long-term disability insurance, educational loan reimbursement, and a 403B retirement plan with a 3% match.
