The Advanced Life Support Educator is responsible for delivering training and educational programs at both basic and advanced life support levels, aligning with the overarching goals of the EMS training center. This role includes providing logistical assistance for both on-site and off-site training sessions, as well as supporting the leadership of the EMS training center through various clerical and operational tasks in addition to instructional duties.
Key Responsibilities
A typical day for an Advanced Life Support Educator at Hackensack Meridian Health involves:
1. Conducting training and educational sessions at both basic and advanced life support levels in alignment with the EMS training center's mission.
2. Offering logistical support for training courses conducted on-site and off-site.
3. Assisting EMS training center leadership with clerical and operational responsibilities alongside teaching duties.
4. Maintaining current EMS/Healthcare certifications (RN, PA, Physician) and BLS/ACLS Instructor credentials.
5. Performing additional tasks and projects as assigned.
6. Adhering to organizational competencies and standards of conduct.
7. Meeting physical requirements, including lifting a minimum of 5 lbs., pushing and pulling at least 25 lbs., and standing for a minimum of 3 hours daily.
Qualifications
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare role as a provider.
2. Proficiency in basic computer applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. At least 1 year of experience in an instructional capacity.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
1. Registered Nurse with Critical Care Experience; or, Physician; or, Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic Certification (MICP); or, Mobile Intensive Care Nurse Certification (MICN).
2. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification Provider and Instructor (American Heart Association CPR-BLS).
3. Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification Provider and Instructor (American Heart Association ACLS).
Preferred Licenses and Certifications:
1. Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor Certification.
