Position Overview:
The Compliance Auditor plays a crucial role in ensuring adherence to the standards and regulations of various affordable housing initiatives. This position involves conducting thorough evaluations of tenant documentation, property conditions, and operational practices to verify compliance with relevant program requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
- Execute comprehensive audits of tenant files and site operations to assess compliance with applicable affordable housing programs.
- Programs under review include, but are not limited to, the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), HUD programs (such as VASH, Section 8, HUD 236, and HUD 202 PRAC), as well as Bond, HOME, CHFA, AHP, MHP, and special needs housing initiatives.
- Oversee all regulatory obligations, perform monitoring assessments, and identify instances of noncompliance along with effective corrective actions.
- Generate detailed reports outlining deficiencies and collaborate with property management teams to address and rectify compliance issues identified during evaluations.

Professional Development:
- Mentor and train staff members, providing valuable technical assistance and guidance to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Travel Requirements:
- The role necessitates travel to various locations where the organization operates, including potential out-of-state assignments.

Qualifications:
- A four-year degree or equivalent experience in a related field is required, with a preference for candidates holding a Bachelor's degree and five or more years of relevant experience in compliance monitoring of affordable housing programs.
- Preferred certifications include Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP), Novogradac Property Compliance Certification (NPCC), and Certified Occupancy Specialist Advanced (COSA). Familiarity with Smartsheet or Yardi is also advantageous.

- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify noncompliance and implement effective corrective measures for affordable housing programs.
- Willingness to travel and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Proficient in interpreting and applying extensive regulatory documentation.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making capabilities.
- Moderate to advanced proficiency in navigating technical systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $64,840-$66,560, depending on experience. Comprehensive benefits include 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage.
