Client Needs Advocate

South Middlesex Opportu is seeking a dedicated Client Needs Advocate to join our team. As a Client Needs Advocate, you will work closely with clients to assess their needs and develop plans to address those needs.

- You will provide advocacy, teaching, and problem-solving skills to empower clients to achieve their goals.
- Conduct intake and assessment interviews to understand clients' housing, income, medical, mental health, and substance abuse needs.
- Orient clients to program services and explain confidentiality guidelines.
- Identify potential eligibility for employment or entitlement benefits and develop plans with clients to secure benefits and/or housing.
- Refer clients to shelters, programs, housing, substance abuse treatment, mental health treatment, and other service providers as needed.
- Teach coping skills and provide supportive counseling to help clients manage stress and overcome challenges.
- Maintain comprehensive case records and log all client interactions in E-Clinical database.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
- Previous experience working with culturally diverse populations is essential.
- Strong empathy, advocacy, empowerment, teaching, and problem-solving skills are necessary for success in this role.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are also required.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are preferred.
- A competitive salary of $60,000 per year.
