As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure the optimal performance of our machinery. Your duties will include:
- Conducting thorough inspections of tools and machinery to identify malfunctions or assess operational readiness.
- Adhering to maintenance schedules to keep tools and equipment in peak condition.
- Executing repairs on equipment enclosures, interiors, dashboards, and related components.
- Troubleshooting and rectifying electrical and basic electronic issues.
- Performing urgent repairs in the field to restore equipment functionality or facilitate its return to the shop for further servicing.
- Utilizing tools and machinery to diagnose issues, confirm operational status, or relocate equipment within the facility.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of tools, equipment, and the workshop environment.
- Keeping accurate records and conducting annual inspections of equipment.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the rental industry is preferred.
- Certification from JLG/Genie is advantageous.
- Comprehensive knowledge of equipment brands such as John Deere, Komatsu, Bobcat, and Caterpillar.
- Ability to understand the principles, techniques, tools, and equipment used in vehicle and self-powered machinery repair, including heavy machinery.
- Commitment to following all relevant safety standards, regulations, and procedures.
- Capacity to develop advanced mechanical skills over time.
- Proficiency in documenting information accurately in both written work orders and digital databases.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with colleagues and clients.
- A high school diploma is required.
