**Job Title:** Housing Advocate

**Location:** Staten Island, NY

**Estimated Salary:** $55,000 - $65,000 per year

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Housing Advocate to join our team at Plant Street Staffing. As a Housing Advocate, you will play a vital role in ensuring that families and individuals receive the housing support they need.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing advocacy services to families and individuals in need of housing assistance.
  • Assisting clients in obtaining permanent housing and making referrals to special housing agencies.
  • Collaborating with new residents to design individualized housing, mental, and medical treatment plans.
  • Conducting family and individual intake and maintaining accurate case records.
  • Following up on child welfare cases, court cases, and parole/police matters.
  • Collaborating with Shift Supervisors and Resident Aides to support families effectively.
  • Participating in weekly Interdisciplinary Team and Administrative meetings.
  • Completing and entering client case management records in the DHS-CARES system.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A High School Diploma required, Bachelors Degree preferred.
  • Experience in social services, housing support, mental health services or a related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate and timely records.
  • Knowledge of housing resources and entitlement programs is a plus.
