This position performs critical work driving an ambulance, rescuing and transporting the sick and injured, administering emergency medical care, maintaining records and files, preparing reports, and performing related tasks as required.
Key Responsibilities- Perform duties as an Emergency Medical Technician at the Paramedic level, operating an approved mobile medical unit, rescuing victims, and administering appropriate emergency medical care to patients while en route to a hospital.
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, applying necessary medical treatment to sick or injured persons and transporting them to a medical facility.
- Work under general supervision, with performance reviewed through observation, reports, and discussion concerning the quality and effectiveness of duties and responsibilities.
- Promote good public relations and work effectively with citizens, doctors, and hospital employees.
- Perform physical activities required, including lifting, bending, pulling, stooping, walking, and other physical exertions of 300 pounds of force with assistance.
- Possess a valid North Carolina driver's license.
- Certification by the North Carolina Medical Examiners Boards as a Paramedic.
- NIMS certifications 100, 200, 700, and 800.
- Possess ACLS, PALS, and CPR Certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
