Job Summary

North Adams Ambulance Services, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our team. As an EMT, you will be responsible for providing emergency medical care to patients in a variety of settings, including emergency scenes, hospitals, and pre-hospital environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, providing basic life support to patients as needed.
  • Assess the nature and extent of injury or illness, prioritizing medical procedures to be followed.
  • Rescue and extricate victims of accidents, sudden illness, or entrapment using proper rescue and medical techniques.
  • Treat patients at the scene, en route to the hospital, and in a pre-hospital setting, following federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Effectively communicate with professional medical personnel and treatment facilities to obtain instructions regarding further treatment and/or to arrange reception of patients to the appropriate center.
  • Maintain order at scenes, including crowd disbursement and restraint of family and friends.
  • Complete patient care forms, insurance forms, evaluation forms, and all other forms in a competent and timely fashion.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current state emergency medical technician certification required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer and/or American Heart Association BCLS certification required.

  • Stand, walk, lift, carry, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, climb, reach, push, pull, and handle or grasp objects.
