Job Description

This role involves collaborating with senior engineers and project managers to ensure the reliability, safety, and efficiency of distribution networks. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Design Support: Assisting in the design and planning of distribution systems, including electrical power grids, water supply networks, natural gas pipelines, or telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Technical Analysis: Conducting technical analyses, such as load flow analysis, fault analysis, and voltage stability studies, under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Project Support: Providing support for distribution system projects, including documentation, data analysis, and project management tasks.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring that distribution systems adhere to safety standards, industry regulations, environmental requirements, and applicable codes.
  • Asset Management: Assisting in developing maintenance and asset management plans to extend the life and reliability of distribution infrastructure.
  • Quality Assurance: Participating in quality assurance practices, including design reviews, inspection processes, and testing.
  • Documentation Management: Maintaining and organizing records, drawings, and documentation related to distribution systems.
  • Safety Awareness: Promoting safety best practices and contributing to safety initiatives to mitigate hazards and prevent accidents.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, including senior engineers, project managers, field technicians, and regulatory agencies to achieve project objectives.
  • Client Relations: Serving as a point of contact for clients, offering technical support and responding to inquiries related to distribution systems.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, civil engineering, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in the distribution engineering field.
  • Familiarity with distribution system design software and tools.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations governing distribution systems.
  • Basic project management skills, including project planning and documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to address technical challenges.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • Attention to detail with a focus on quality and safety.
  • Willingsness to adapt to changing technologies and industry trends.

The estimated salary for this position is $80,000-$110,000 per year, based on industry standards and the level of experience required.
