Position Overview:
As a Welding Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the advancement and refinement of Re:
Build Optimation's welding center of excellence. This includes supporting project-specific welding initiatives for Re:
Build Optimation and the wider network of Re:
Build Manufacturing member companies.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop, optimize, and manage welding processes and parameters across various welding techniques, including but not limited to:
    - Electron beam welding
    - Laser beam welding
    - Gas tungsten arc welding
    - Orbital tube welding
    - Gas metal arc welding

2. Serve as a subject matter expert, guiding engineering and trades teams on specific welding requirements, including:
    - Applicable code requirements
    - Drawing interpretation
    - Appropriate techniques
    - Destructive and non-destructive testing

3. Collaborate with internal and external quality and testing stakeholders to establish quality and testing requirements for welded assemblies.

4. Identify opportunities for outsourcing welding quality and testing processes and manage relationships with key quality and testing vendors.

Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Codes (e.g., Sec VIII Divs. 1 & 2)
- Practical and design experience with various materials including carbon steels, stainless steels, aluminum, titanium, and high-nickel alloys
- Fundamental understanding of welding processes
- Experience in tooling design for welded assemblies to minimize part distortion and enhance consistency
- Bachelor’s Degree in Welding or Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience in design, fabrication, manufacturing, or testing of welded assemblies.

Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with ASME BPVC design tools
- Experience with ASME Authorized Inspection Authorities
- AWS Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) and/or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
- NDT Level 1 or Level 2 certification
- Strong problem-solving abilities and technical acumen
- Proficient in interpreting technical documents and drawings, as well as effective communication skills in English.

Work Environment:
The role may involve working in both office and manufacturing settings, with occasional exposure to mechanical parts and various environmental factors. The noise level is typically quiet to moderate.
