Patient Access Specialist

Job Summary:

The Patient Access Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring seamless patient access to our healthcare services. This position requires a high level of customer service, financial acumen, and technical skills to effectively register patients, collect co-pays and deductibles, and provide financial assistance education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Register patients, collect demographic and financial information, and verify insurance benefits
  • Collect co-pays and deductibles, and provide financial assistance education to patients and their families
  • Stat register patients, schedule appointments, and complete registration by collecting and entering pertinent financial and demographic information into the ADT system
  • Verify insurance benefit information, generate ABNs, and review orders for compliance
  • Complete MSP, obtain financial and treatment consents, and place ordered medical procedures
  • Obtain pre-certification when applicable, while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements

Requirements:

  • High School completion or GED
  • Preferred: Associates Degree in healthcare or related business field
  • Proficiency in Windows-based computer technology, including keyboarding and typing at least 25 wpm
  • Medical Terminology certification preferred
  • 1-3 years of job-related experience, preferably in customer service, general clerical/office, hospital, medical office/clinic, or insurance company
