About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal System Administrator - Linux SME to join our team at Raytheon. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for leading and collaborating with a diverse team to support fast-paced, critical programs with classified information system capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Administration: Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux environment.
  • Linux Expertise: Knowledge of Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods.
  • Team Collaboration: Work as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment, using troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity.
  • Security and Compliance: Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures.
  • DoD Certification: Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements within 6 months of start date.
  • Travel and Work Schedule: Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours. Travel required to other US Domestic locations as business needs dictate.
Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: Typically, Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience or 9 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Security Clearance: Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Linux Experience: In-depth working experience in RedHat Linux environments.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with some but not limited to, the following technologies: Linux/RHEL administration, Active Directory, WSUS, VMware, administration and networking administration experience, Windows administration, and recovery enterprise suites.
  • Leadership Experience: Lead/mentoring experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active DoD Top Secret: An active DoD Top Secret security clearance.
  • NISPOM and JAFAN Experience: Direct working experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF.
  • Data Storage Experience: Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions.
  • IT Project Management: Experience using Information Technology project lifecycle management processes.
  • Software Development Support: Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development.
  • Microsoft Technologies: Experience with Microsoft WSUS, SCCM, and/or Exchange.
  • High Performance Computing: High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment.
  • Scripting Experience: Scripting Experience.
