Key Responsibilities
  • Operate vehicles in compliance with state and federal transportation regulations
  • Safely transport loads over designated routes, adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols
  • Skillfully maneuver trucks and trailers in loading and unloading zones, following crew instructions
  • Assist in loading and unloading goods and materials, utilizing specialized equipment as necessary
  • Maintain accurate records of invoices, shipping documents, and other required paperwork
  • Conduct routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any issues to the Shipping Supervisor
  • Organize trailers in shipping yards for optimal loading efficiency
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Essential Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with a professional demeanor when interacting with clients and staff
  • Ability to maintain focus and efficiency in a fast-paced environment
Education and Experience:
  • Possession of a valid commercial driver's license or chauffeur's license, appropriate for the vehicle's weight
  • Successful completion of background checks and drug testing as mandated by transportation regulations
  • Passing a DOT physical examination is required for vehicles over 10,000 lbs
Physical Requirements:
  • Extended periods of sitting in a vehicle cab
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
  • Frequent travel may be necessary
  • Compliance with grooming standards may be required for specific customer deliveries
  • This position is safety-sensitive and contingent upon passing a drug screening
