As a Practical Nurse, you will play a crucial role in delivering direct patient care and facilitating ongoing education while reinforcing care plans. Key Responsibilities:
- Support the registered nurse and/or healthcare provider by gathering data related to the physical, psychological, social, and cultural aspects of patients, in line with professional standards and institutional guidelines.
- Effectively organize and prioritize nursing care tasks, taking into account the needs of patients and the interdisciplinary team.
- Implement interventions tailored to the developmental needs of individual patients as directed by the registered nurse or provider.
- Assist in assessing the effectiveness of care provided, aiming to help patients achieve their desired health outcomes.
- Deliver continuous education and reinforcement of care plans established by the healthcare provider or registered nurse, based on the identified health and educational needs of patients.
- Ensure a safe environment and the secure delivery of care.
- Take initiative for your own professional growth and contribute to the professional development of colleagues.
- Exhibit teamwork in the provision of patient care.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is $30.81.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Program.
- Experience: No prior experience required.
- Licensure: Must hold a valid license to practice as a Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia prior to starting. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association is required. A valid Virginia Driver's License may also be necessary.
Physical Requirements:
This role may involve prolonged periods of standing, frequent travel, and bending or stooping. Candidates should possess proficient communication, auditory, and visual skills, along with attention to detail and the ability to write clearly. The position may require lifting, pushing, or pulling heavy objects and may expose the individual to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious diseases.
